No where near that cold here, as it's like 27 degrees, and snowing, but our power went out last night a bit after 8, and Thank God the Wife had finished making dinner right before that (like literally about 10 minutes before it) and of course DTE had no info for us about when it would be back on.... Just a message saying Wind damage caused it and they knew it was out.. It was raining at first, and 41 degrees, and then, out of no where it started Snowing REALLY hard on the way to the bus stop to pick the youngest up, and by the time the bud came we had slush in the roads even though it was so warm before that.
Got woken up at 3 AM, along with everyone else in the house, when the smoke alarms all went nuts. I figured it was the battery back up shutting down. Took a while getting back to sleep. Then it was time to head into town. Wife has to work and I headed to my Mom's house, and her drive way is a sheet of ice, along with the ramp leading up to her house. Looks like I know what I'll be doing in a bit.
Roads weren't terrible, and we saw DTE trucks on the road we're on when we headed in, and only slid twice or so from the sheer amount of Snow, then rain, then back to snow that happened over night. We have some branches down in the yard, and lots of them are down on the streets. Lots of people without power.
Being a Catfish angler, we have multiple battery operated bubblers, so, those got hooked up for the Aquariums to keep the pets going. Made it to town, and at my Mom's house now. Nice having power on LOL. The in law did text me a little bit ago, and said the power had come back on Thank God.
Stay safe everyone.
