WOW. Your grow space is a freakin' award winner before you've planted anything. :D I'm gobsmacked.

I really appreciate how you have shown the breakdown for the amendments you're using, and the detailed pics. I'd like my own space to be set up very similar to this, I suppose it could happen. It would only be about 1/4 the size of yours. Can't wait to see what happens in there for sure !

??? - I talked about putting down ground cover like you have used there, my wife scared me out of it saying it will be too hot, everything will burn up. Looking at yours I get the feeling it's not a problem ? Is dark better than white ? How durable do you think it is, good for a few years ?

Growing a forest was easy. tempImage093p9a.jpg
But later in the season when you enter the Jungle, tempImageSBo9xv.jpg it became impossible to maneuver the weedwacker around the ladies. And using the push mower you couldn't tell what direction you where going.

Before Growing Season
Had to come in with the Brushsaw to knock it down and afterwards I mulched it into the ground using a push mower.

Okay back to the 2024 season.
It rained/poured here all night & day yesterday, so I left the garden alone.
With 30 holes remaining to be cultivated/Mixed, all the Dry amendments that I had spread the day before and only had time to cover with the compost ended being Watered in pretty hard. Going to give it some time to dry out before blending.

On an other note.
The seedlings that where just started are doing good, and the clones that I acquired a couple of weeks ago are coming out of their funk.
Some of them where showing stress when I first Received them.

One with Variegated leaf showing.

These seedlings where a cross from my LAST Afghani heirloom beans from the 80s that where pollenated with Feminized pollen from an early finishing Skunch in an attempt to save some of the Genetic profile, and possibly speed of the fish time. This year will tell what I've created.

And some of these seen here where the stressed clones.

Worked in the garden all day but the compost was too wet to mix. tempImageSYpYjZ.jpg

Tried using the 6 tine cultivator to get everything mixed and it just Balled up.

This is what the dehydrated Kelp looks like after 24 hours of rain.
tempImageHBYTNl.jpg

Couldn't blend the soil so I reworked all 36 cages and added another row of 4x4 openings near the top, so I'll be able to work on the plants
down low and high while training them. tempImagemSqxMF.jpg

The Brunch Breath that was the most stressed clones I received is starting to show good progress in its new pot. They were really wet and barley rooted when I received them.
