Bio-controls - when are they effective ?

Mr Jay

In Bloom
Yes, study involves housefly, fruitfly.
Focus is on temp and humidity.

Paper would imply that this particular product is incredibly ineffective below certain temperatures and below specific humidity.

relative humidity of 50 % showed less than 50 % mortality of adult flies at all the tested temperatures
- At 75 % RH, maximum housefly adult mortality was 72 %
-which increased to 100 % mortality at 90 %RH

I understand that we are typically not targeting houseflies.

Speaking generally, as a rule of thumb:
At temperature above 25 Celsius -relative humidity is equal to killing power.

The study plots a linear relationship.
At 50%, you will kill half of them.
At 100%, you can kill them all
