I've had reasonably good self control regarding vape gear for a while(fishing stuff is a different story).
I have a pretty solid lineup at the moment. I use the B-Zero daily, along with the Solo 3 and the Camouflet CXL.

The BFG Fusion 2 gets a fair bit of use and I also like the Roffu, once it's been properly modded.

I finally decided to grab one of the hype butane units, the Tempest 2. It arrives Tuesday. I didn't buy from these guys, but they have a good demo video.

I also picked up a YLL 3.0 Induction heater. It arrives Monday. I've had the Wand IH for a couple years, but the new one is far more powerful with a greatly improved interface. I won't touch ILL gear for vapes, but the heater is getting rave reviews. This should be a lot of fun, not just with the Tempest, but also the dynavaps, Camouflets, and the Fusion.

Anyone else got any new toys recently?

The YLL3 is a great induction heater. It is customizable and consistent and a fantastic addition.

The Tempest 2 is a fucking beast.

The Dani Fusion 2 is a really good device, I like the CXL even more. I've hardly touched either since the Tempest arrived. I've even been using the B-0 less, something I never thought a hand-held vape could cause, but this thing is so good.

With the other vapes I mentioned, one heat extraction is possible, but requires technique and requires approaching combustion. With the Tempest, I find myself wishing the bowl was bigger, as I can easily kill it in one heat cycle. It has both visual and audible notification for reaching temp, making it very user friendly.

The induction heater makes it super simple, but even with a torch, this thing is easy to operate and I haven't combusted yet.
It has great cooling and a super open airflow, which can be opened even further by adjusting the carb.

It was not at all cheap, but I absolutely feel I got my money's worth.

@Chefdave and his advice to get the water bubbler for the arizer 2 has kept me happy for quite awhile.

I don't know if I could if I wanted to. I'd rather do without than combust. I was a heavy cigarette smoker for almost a 1/4 century and a weed chimney for almost 40 years, but now smoke repulses me.

totally get you about the cigs. was the hardest thing to quit. but now I can't stand the smell.

still something about rolling up a hog leg with a 1.5 brings me back to my misguided youth. lmao!!! and the wife likes a Doobie too which is a bonus

I quit smoking cigarettes back when they hit $2.20 a pack in Illinois. That was hard. Very hard. It took more than one attempt. Now I think they’re around $16–20 in the city, which is just crazy. These days I can smell someone smoking from a block away, no problem. I don’t even want to ride in someone’s car if they’re a heavy smoker. I finally understand why people used to say, “OMG, you smell like smoke.”

A couple years after I quit, I lit up a bowl and it tasted like stale tobacco—and that’s never gone away. It's horrible. Once I tried a dry herb vape, I could finally taste weed again, and on a totally different level. Now I only smoke in social situations, which is very rare now, but it still drives me crazy that I can’t taste it the same way.

I still can't believe how I used to casually pass a doob with people I didn't know. It was such a huge part of the weed culture, the doobie circle, a way of bringing strangers together, and I loved it.

Now, even if smoke wasn't nasty, the idea of swapping germs with people is just foul. Ah, the good ol' post-covid world.

It's been about 3 weeks now, and the Tempest is still the first device I reach for, even with a plugged-in, heated up ball vape at my elbow.

This thing is both the (second)hardest hitting and the smoothest vape I own. I've been sick for a while, and the B-Zero makes me cough. The Solo 3 isn't as bad, but still sets me off. As long as I draw slowly, the T2 gives me massive, face melting rips but is still smooth on my throat.

An induction heater makes it easy(YLL3.0 and the Wand both work great), though a torch still does a fine job. It just needs a tiny bit of technique and a big flame.



The Megasicle is the hardest hitter I own. Still dialing it in, as it generally takes me about ten minutes to recover from a session in my current condition. It's an all quartz device for use with a WPA. It soaks up the heat and then gives ridiculous convection hits. It was an impulse Black Friday buy. Hard to go wrong for $80.
