Under canopy LED’s

I guess sellers are trying to catch the next wave, price is steep.
I’m looking at disassembling this fixture to possibly try some under canopy lighting…..because I’m bored? :stoned:
These are 50 watt Atrium ARA20 strips 2’ long.
I emailed Atrium to see what they had to say, we’ll see?
The light spectrum top or bottom would be the same?
Without climate control, I’m wondering about temps?
I can fab some stands to support the strips, but I think power is the biggest concern in regards to moisture and securing waterproof connections?
I don’t spray stuff, so that’s not an issue. Micro spike watering coco.
There is a light behind this in the pic, looks weird.View attachment 218283

I finally got around to trying these strips. From what I’m reading, the results are positive.
I’ve got five running off a HLG Meanwell 320-54.
I found some angle brackets to use for mounts. I don’t see a need to make them adjustable, height wise, have plenty of juice!

I’m wondering about taking glass or plexiglass to make some protective lens?
I would like to find some thin material that I could make a lens like this?IMG_6268.jpeg
Would heat buildup be an issue if I sealed the lens covers?IMG_6266.jpeg

It’s definitely making a difference and I’m still winging it at this point.
I could push them higher, but last thing I want is burnt lowers! That would bring back early growing days, torched leaves.
I’d buy some lights if I didn’t already have these, knowing what I know now.
This is pretty new, so interested to see where the tech goes?

I don't think anything is worth the cost anymore, considering it cost more to grow indoors than buy now if you have a license and know who to buy from. The only way to make a minimum amount of profit is greenhouse or outdoor. Just the facts of this marketplace. I can purchase quality pounds for 350 greenhouse out of San Diego legally and excellent quality. Only growing a 5x10 from here on our till market changes if it ever does. Just can't justify loosing money and putting in the hard work for nothing. I'm focusing on day trading now, not growing. I will probably just do a 5x5 for fun in near future unless things change. I'm 57 now and need to focus on monetary return not growing for the sake of growing. Cheers

I hear that. I thought time started to feel like it was moving faster maybe late 30's early 40's. Hit 50. Blink and a damn year goes by.
