accidentally walked through the garden section at Meijer, and was really surprised they have more organic options than my local Ace hardware,Lowes, home Depot, and Menards together.

just keeping track of what is available cheap and easy.

that udderly magic has that milk protein magic i saw on another thread here. the miracle grow formula had pretty high npk numbers. tru organics had guano.

does anything stick out? anything interesting?

Menards has an OMRI listed organic composted chicken poo fertilizer that's pretty cheap. They have several different formulations with different NPK ratios. I picked up the 25lb basic 2-4-3 formula for about $10. The smaller more specialized formulations (Rose and Flower, Tomato and Vegetable etc) are about $6 each for 4 lbs. But those are more specialized. I'll probably pick a few bags of those up as well. Chicken manure is an incredible slow release fertilizer. Especially because in order for farmers to get the chickens to grow quickly, or produce lots of healthy eggs, they have to supplement the vitamins and minerals necessary to do that. I looked into the parent company of this fertilizer, and they also sell organic eggs, and that makes me much more comfortable buying their product. A lot of technically organic fertilizers made from animal byproducts are not from organically fed animals, which usually means they are fed Roundup ready GMO feedstock. To some, not a big deal. But I want my soil to be as clean as possible. Though that's getting harder and harder.

you ain't kidding! i did notice the smaller bags, but passed them up because they lacked mycorrhizae. but today noticed the big 25lb bag at like $10.50.

at that price you could splurge for some of those designer innoculants you see on Instagram. or just reinnoculate with last cycles soil for those free microbes that are already optimized for your environment.

but i did eye it, because it was free of steer products(grazon, etc), so let's be real, chickens get grit for calcium, I've been told it's oyster shell flour, so that's covered. how's the iron, mag, and sulfur? do you admixture or topdress, or both?

espoma has a line with their biotone formula in it of feathermeal etc. Plant tone and tomato tone are more up our alley in npk+ a bunch of myco's and no salts/nitrate, ace and hd even walmart has had it the last few years.

that red and green bottle look interesting to me, i've passed them up many times and regret it now, not realizing they are packed with beneficials it looks like

I'll have to look at the label, but I think it's got some mag and sulfur in it. Though I might be thinking of the smaller bags label. I would personally use it as an admixture to start with, and as a top dress later on (like say every couple of weeks). I wouldn't rely solely on it as a fertilizer (though maybe you could), I'd add some oyster shell flour or ag lime for ph, kelp, gypsum, worm castings, and basalt as well when mixing up the soil..

well aurora innovation (roots organics ) got bought out by hydrofarm, their terp tea and misc not only raised price everywhere but many are not for sale , it’s been well over 6 months online and locally many things exp big size bags are out of stock and you can tell they are taking sweet ol time or don’t give two shits. Well I was lucky enough I bought multi seasons worth before this. Well I’m not a dude who will wait till out to figure out my alternative or diff choice than and there. Being I’m limited on money for my garden and im not a fanboy of any brand. I’m a fan boy of organics and ecosystem organics baby. You can’t beat it exp for the flavor and ease

Woah , check out this stuff and tell me it’s not the shit hehe, this stuff is the organics versions per se of osmocote and has a high trace elements to high % bennies and fungi content . I bought 3 bags and I’m gonnea try this out on veggies and cannabis. I’ll give y’all a good review next year :)

I can see why this company makes organic alt to synthetic for grass to tree’s and gardens. They made something u could afford and be a true all-in-one. I was suggested this by a buddy who does big ag and he uses this product for greenhouse commerical and even his hemp fields . Soo excited

from Home Depot. I like it for seedlings and early veg. I liked it A LOT more when you could get it for $9.99 a gallon..........than it doubled and then it almost doubled again. $30 now. I still have some $18 stock, so I'm good for a while. Last round came from wally world, where they also had a good price on a 3 pack of flower girl.

i lost too much time on that site just now 😃. they got a nice pile of cool sounding stuff. even organic liquids!

followed a Google search about emery humates(never heard of EMERY humates) to Great 8 1-0-0 | Liquid Conditioner - Drench Application great8 and crop thruster sound like good soil food also.

I noticed Pennington the grass brand has joined the organic amended aggregate game, they have a redesigned line now that I had to look twice at, looked so different and natural and seems similar to epsomas aggregate mix, probably as good haven't tried~
that was another one i looked at. honestly, the pennington bag at home Depot was the brand that got me looking at the organic all-in-ones. i figure the espoma empire has so much momentum, and such a huge footprint, that any competitors in the field would either have to offer a much lower price(didn't see any $3 10lb bags) or a superior product. it felt like it was more granular, and our gardens prefer a bacterially dominated biome, which i would think prefers it's food in a less granular state.

i missed that on my first read. that's pretty important. probably means they aren't pumped full of antibiotics to screw up our soil biome.

i was the creepy guy, sniffing chicken dung at the big blue store yesterday. i was expecting a much more ammoniated smell. very earthy, a lot like milorganite.

i haven't seen flower girl in my travels. it seems to have a lot of happy purchasers. that, and how finely ground it felt, swayed my choice to get their all purpose.

a sample size of one dr. earth organic food, and less than a week, but I'm impressed. coming from salts, i can't believe the speed and vigor of the roots.
