Grazon warning

The entire class of 'Aminopyralid' is systemic and persistent in a permaculture environment.

It's fine for your the grass in your yard, but toxic in the garden.

I wouldn't be surprised if cannabis growers misdiagnose aminpyralid poisoning as hop latent viroid (HPLVD).

Be careful out there. Buying the wrong bag of steer manure at home depot could totally derail your garden...

Oh man that was a good read. Great tips that’s why I love crawling around over here. Had me worried for a bit because I use compost in my indoor grow. I use Malibu Compost and after some looking I think they do a good job of sourcing the label said no herbicide as well as a few other things.
Still kinda dodged a bullet without even knowing as I skipped building some soil which would have had me getting subpar compost from a big box store. This will stick with me more than you know as a future goat farmer!

Quite interesting. I have this one tomato bed that got real quiet out of no where. I assumed it was this big spruce that's near by sucking the life out of it. But now I'm beginning to wonder. I use that Black Kow from home dopey. I've used it for years with no issues, but...I can't explain that bed. It's planted now, and those 8 are the worst looking ones out there. The vetch cover crop didn't make it overwinter last year either. Hmmmm........good info, thanks.

A simple indicator that these herbicides were likely not used in the production of hay is the presence of legumes such as lespedeza, clovers, or alfalfa. If the hay has legumes in it, it has probably not been treated with any of these herbicides. The absence of legumes in hay, however, does not mean that these herbicides are present."

Gotta be specific on what we are calling 'hay'
Big differences in straw, hay , silage, and orchard grass.
This Grazon stuff looks like broadleaf control.

I gotta do more digging. Commercial rabbit food ( pellet and loose feed) contains Alfalfa.[ Alfalfa is excessively calcium rich, and cannot be the sole diet for bunnies.] This would appear to make it safe. However, Timothy is a bunching grass, and it could be mono cropped; whereby potentially treated with Grazon, or the like.
Orchard Grass and bunny pellets contain Alfalfa and Timothy, although they may not have been grown concurrently in the same plot.

TLDR

Alfalfa = okay
Timothy ?

I know the post is now almost a year old, but this is the first time I've heard about this today. When I watched it, I started getting pissed. What kind of fucking morons
poison our food supply on purpose.

We get quite a bit of manure every spring for our garden, but now I'm very concerned. We buy a 1/4 of beef from our neighbor once or more per year and I may have to ask
him if he sprays his hay fields as the active ingredients are in many similar products farmers use. I he does not, I may have to take a bunch of 5 gallon buckets over to
where is cattle are and do some shoveling. Just like Roundup, I predict lawsuits will force them to take their poison off the market. Now unless I'm sure the manure I use does not have this poison on the hay the cattle feed on, I won't touch it.

Let's be a force multiplier and get the word out on this absolute assault on humanity. FUCKING BIG AG> I HATE THEM. Look what Monsanto tries to do with every piece of legislation they push through, sometimes in the middle of the night with the proper payoffs to legislators. They have been trying to outlaw heirloom seeds for a long time
so the average gardener will have to buy seeds from them yearly as their produce will not produce seeds. I HATE them. I know I said it once already, but am so pissed off about this that I had to say it again.

One saving grace for me is I have a huge compost pile that consists of grass clippings, mulched leaves, and algae from our pond. None of it has been touched by this poison, but
it's still not like some good ole manure.

Thanks @Chunky Stool for sharing. I'm now going to be a force multiplier in helping to get the word out.
