Been looking at these drawings and they all have two things in common. They are overly complicated and they have unnecessary Hardware

Just stuff the airline into the tube, doesn't matter top or bottom. No fitting required.
We are only looking for a circulating pump; the output does not necessarily have to be above the water line.
To avoid siphon back, the pump must live above the water line.

Unless you're pushing a horrendous amount of air volume - most of these pumps ( lift tube) look oversized.
We are just looking to avoid stagnation and stratification, we don't need a ton of turnover
Even the dinkiest of air pumps can lift water if the draw tube stays close to double the diameter of the airline
