My dad used to get pissed when I’d throw a whole crawler on the hook. “ You only need a little piece, you’re wasting them” …. Man I heard that so much.oh I got this super fancy one. I put 2 split shot 6" up from a hook, a night crawler, and a bobber . Then I sit and smoke a jay until it moves....
ahh but big worms catch big fish!My dad used to get pissed when I’d throw a whole crawler on the hook. “ You only need a little piece, you’re wasting them” …. Man I heard that so much.
I love inlines and only last year picked up my first panther martin. It is the biggest size and I added it to that giant bucktail that musky frank made me. That panther blade produces the most fantastic wobble and wiggle I've ever seen in an in-line. There's something real special about them, and I am going to get some of the smaller ones for fishing the river this fall.Anyone a fan of inline spinners?
Mepps is probably the biggest name, but I grew up tossing Panther Martin spinners for trout in small streams in the foothills of the Rockies.
There are lots of colours, but this was the classic.
I also discovered that these tiny trout spinners can be very effectively used as a vertical jig for pike, walleye, burbor, perch, lake whitefish, etc in the winter.
I know a lot of people like spinner baits, but I've always liked my inlines.
Lemme know when you're up and running - I got a couple I can send you! 🤣 🤣Pinion gear. Going to call Diawa and order a couple. Not a hard repair at all. Maybe reel repair is a good gig

I'd love to throw one of these, but I think I'd lose 'em all to the shoals PDQ.Anyone a fan of inline spinners?

Man some of that googan stuff is real hit or miss. I've gotten a couple traditional lures made by them " googan" style, that were kinda trash, but I've gotten some real nice stuff from them too. I hope that thing swims good, that tail almost has a whale quality to it.Got my new Googan Revolver yesterday.

Didn't know anyone was making a midsection plopper-style.
First impression is kinda, "Meh."
It feels heavier than half an ounce... oh, because it is.

That's a pretty big weight discrepancy... 50%.
Hope that's not an indicator of shitty quality control.
It feels fat and chunky and not aerodynamic at all.
I'll reserve final judgement until I see it swim.
If it'll catch Shoalies, I don't care how fat and ugly it is.
whats the limited edition orange pole?Could be worse:

The Ugly Stik has my go to rig on it:
Basic slip sinker set up, with a little rattle spin by the hook. The idea being "cast it into the current" and then the thing spins and rattles to bring in Catfish.

They say it's supposed to stop the barrel-rolling that ploppers can do...Man some of that googan stuff is real hit or miss. A fishing license in Da Mitten is only $26, so there's another story here somewhere....
(just bustin' yer ass, but I am curious why you aren't getting out)
