Just tried the Durian. God damn is it funky. As times it's like rotten eggs, propane, flatulence, at others it's kinda floral & sweet. Interesting af.
The taste is really sweet immediately upon hitting the tounge and then it turns to a creamy complex layer of flavors; flowers, cream, dry cheerios aftertaste, meat, umami, beans, sulfur, and yes @Psychobilly , there's some cheese funk in there, too. It keeps developing and changing as you savor each bite. Again, interesting af.
The texture is like layers of delicatley thin shredded sausage casings with undercooked scrambled egg paste between them. Honestly, that part I don't find very appealing.
Crazy bumpy texture on the rind was literally stabbing me while I pulled it apart.

LOL I've heard that texture can be off putting, but, as I said, I've not had a shot at it yet.

Well, you guys probably know that I've been trying to put more effort into "fruity candy" strains lately, because I found myself always shitting on strains named after candy and fruit, and now I know, deep down, there's at least ONE fruit someone could name a strain after that I'd be ALL over hahaha.

Grow update:
As usual I'm trying some new things this round. I added some homemade biochar and a good portion of heavy clay topsoil from outside. This resulted in a much heavier mix than I'm used to, so now I'm relearning how to water. Overall the mix takes water much better than before, the clay just always accepts it, unlike Peat which goes all hydrophobic if it gets too dry.
On top this, I switched up my nutes to Rooted Leaf, and so far I'm loving it! Everything I put it on is doing great, meds, veggies, houseplants.

Frosty MacFish male & female. I took him down and saved pollen. Also saved pollen from the Punch Mittens & WhoOody Tribe. The (2) SCS Melvinz x Syrian Landrace males went into flower now.

Big Sexy, The big one is a male, best looking one I have ever seen, already has trichomes on the fan leaves and it's still just in veg 🤯. All of the trouble getting seeds to sprout may have been worth it. He's definitely a keeper. The other 2 aren't showing yet.

Trichomes on male in veg? It's hard to see in the pic, I'll get some better macro shots.

Punch Mittens female, also getting frosty in veg, not used to seeing that.

I started getting my 100 gal outdoor pots ready for the season and noticed something strange in the soil. At first I was like, how the hell did a crayfish get into my pot, but then I realized it was multiple crayfish parts all lumped together, and also had beetle parts mixed in, it was about 2 inches long. I'm convinced it's some kind of animal scat, but never saw anything like it before. Must have been painful af for that little guy. Mother nature is bringing in the chitin for me! ❤️🔥 I am curious what type of animal it may have come from, any thoughts?

So jealous!
Did you see the recent stories of people dying from eating morels that were served raw at a restaurant?Outbreak Linked to Morel Mushroom Exposure ...
I hadn't seen that. Then again, I haven't ever eaten them raw either. Man I can't even imagine a place of business willing to serve raw Mushrooms that aren't those basic white cap Mushrooms people add to salads. I've eaten THOSE kind raw, but that's about it LOL. I prefer to eat them cooked up nicely :)

We had enough that the Wife just cooked them up in butter, which is our go to method for these kind, and it literally tasted like Buttery Popcorn bro. This is totally the time of year to visit here though; We've went out and been successful at getting a few handfuls each time, and that's just in the front lawn, and in one spot in the side yard I go to, as we've had some decent 12 inch ones pop up over there before.

I think the next thing we're likely to see, will be the Chantarelles that pop up each season in the woods, which are generally everywhere out there. Before, we didn't usually pick them because I didn't trust my skills in the ID process enough, but now, we may have to give those a go LOL. I mean, I'm not kidding when I say that this is one of the times where we can fill up grocery bags full of them, and still leave enough for the others. Only other time that has happened, is when we go WAY out in the woods, where there is a huge downed tree out there, and it has a massive amount of Chicken of the Woods. We actually did fill two grocery bags up on those one year, and then froze them to cook with pasta, which I have to say was awesome.

We do get the odd Shaggy Mane every now and then, but I haven't eaten one before. But the giant Puffballs.... THOSE are straight up a delicacy around here. They aren't super easy to find, and once in a while we find one passed it's prime, so we take those with us and let them spore out. Then we step on them with our boots, so we can spread them as we hike too. They seem to like grassy areas in the woods in late Summer.

We get lots of Chantrelles here, too, always tasty. I've tried the Chicken of the Woods, and Shaggy Manes, but I'm not really a fan of those. My favorites are Fried Chicken mushrooms and Hen of the Woods, both are fall mushrooms.

You ever give those giant Puffballs a go ? I'd have to say, the Morels, and the Giant Puffballs, are my two personal favorites. The Giant Puffballs are easy to slice up nicely, and fry them in a pan with just butter and maybe some garlic, and let them get a nice crust on there, and basically serve it up. The Wife says they're good with Pancake like toppings too, like Maple Syrup, but I haven't tried them like that personally, as the butter and garlic is just delicious to me.
