This year is hemp heavy, Forbidden V CBD and White CBG @GTR Seeds . I did a couple of their Tropicolada and a Sour Special Sauce indoor this spring. I think they do a good job hitting specific terpene profiles, at least they did with those two.

Gonna have some flower beds too, tomatoes and peppers will probably be limited to containers on the deck.

Center - Nicotiana Sylvestris, Alata and Rusticus(sp?), no CSL Fronto this year @Mim Towls wife was in charge of planting and was "sketched out" by the vial, lol. The Sylvestris (3rd year) and Alata (2nd year) I collected. The rustica is from native seed search and is a Spanish variety that does well in the southwest. There's columbine on the left, I'm selecting those out. @Hugh Jass The nodding allium I collected last year is germinating on the right, some thyme behind it and bluebells that haven't popped yet in front. On the far right are possibly a bunch of lost seeds, I tried something different and it's not looking good, lol.

Did some weeding and made a plan for the garden layout

A few Jenny's Driver x's @JL2G to round it out for now.

I just tried sowing this last germination and went 31/36. I was pleased , sometimes less is better
I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets a little nervous handling a delicate tap root with Neanderthal like dexterity.

That hemp was all direct sow, I was about 75%, 72 cell tray was planted in 15 min at most vs. what? 1-2min per cell if they have a tap?

I've been fond of the spit in the cup method too. I'm finding I can tell if the seed needs cracking by feeling it with my teeth. Then I have a couple spots on my bite that depending on the size and shape of the seed I can get a good grip and give em a crack. I like to chew on a Tbs or so of seed first too for the enzymes. This last go I took swigs of AG1 throughout instead. Maybe not the best idea, so far 2/18 and one "hey, wrong way buddy" but we're only at 4 days.

You use your fucking teeth?? Bro no wonder it's so easy to toss a Jenny out and hope for the best... haha :)

I soak my seeds until a Taproot is there, changing the water every day to keep it fresh, and, of course, make sure any organic matter stuck to it can't mold, and it works great. Then again I can't shove Jenny in a bucket either, but I don't judge :)

You know if you used that spit method on wheat, you'd end up with something very similar to beer.

Sour Bubble, needing epsom, not gonna get it.

Not horrific but there are no glam shots.

No. 9 is my current fave with 6 not far behind.

No. 6 looks more like what I think sour bubble should look like color and bud structure wise.

If they all end up indistinguishable, I'll probably do an open pollination provided the smoke is worth it. Otherwise the no. 7 male will be evaluated for stability and hopefully use it. The others might get hit with florel just for kicks.

Looks like 2x Skunk 1 @Amarok and 1 x Skittlemitten @Frimpong dunno if I'll do a repop, kinda got more than I want right now anyway.

It's a germination test now. Wide range of age variation, a few immature ones, estimate 17 beans in my hand.

Re-evaluated the Sour Bubble in flower and am changing No. 6 to branchy, not sure what I was looking at before. The way I have been pruning lately at transition I clean up the the lowers then wait a day or two before taking a couple nodes above the last unpruned node. The so called non-brancy phenos stay tight to the main while the branchy ones stretch out. I figure this is a fair comparison because the plants basically started from a level playing field.

That seed cracking tech is the real deal dude. 💯
I do it too if popping old seeds or ones that don't pop a tap root after a couple days.

I've heard of seed scuffing too, but even with Tashkurgan, I've had great success just soaking in fresh water. I mean... imagine if I accidentally busted a Cheese seed bro, I'd be sick with sadness lol. On the other hand the amino acids and proteins needed to sustain life are in there too so there's that.
