My opinion it's more about the photo and not the quality of the weed. Personally I'm not a big fan of smoking most of the purple strains, but they sure are pretty to look at and they make for a fantastic photo. I love all of em and just try to pick the one that stands out the best to me.People are easy to figure out, if it's purple, pink and pretty it will get voted for.. If it's green you ain't winning. I wish we can have a real competition where the wares can be sampled then voted for, but that brings on its own set of difficulties.
I agree the quality of a picture can make a world of difference. I don't have a fancy camera, I just use my Samsung Galaxy phone. Anyone know of some good entry level cameras that won't cost me an arm and leg?My opinion it's more about the photo and not the quality of the weed. There were at least a couple green plants that won this year if I remember correctly.
The Phenohunter International Cup would be so epic. What a thought...dream.
Though camera quality and photography skills are important, what you choose to shoot should be equally as important for a POTM lolPeople are easy to figure out, if it's purple, pink and pretty it will get voted for.. If it's green you ain't winning.
Theyre called "Cannabis Cups"I wish we can have a real competition where the wares can be sampled then voted for, but that brings on its own set of difficulties.
I think on android you can get an app called Open Cam that enables things the normal camera doesn't have, someone was telling me how they photograph the night sky with theirs that the normal camera couldn't because focal length, ISO and shutter speed were preset. 3:4 ratio to get the most out of your megapixels 🤙 I was walking through wallys the other day and saw phones with 60 megpixels for $200, that's insane. sounded too good to be true. researched it, they mention using ai for it, I was honestly confused if it was true 60megapixel or not. if it is, id say that's a good option that isnt an arm and a leg, and if it sucks return it?I agree the quality of a picture can make a world of difference. I think pretty colors don't always equate to quality, some of the worst weed I've smoked was dark purple and it gave me a damn headache - so looks can be deceiving.
I know ICmag has an annual cup, but it's held in Europe or maybe Spain I believe. Not ideal for people who don't have thousands of dollars for plane tickets and hotels. A little too rich for my blood. But I can only dream of all us members getting together and doing a cup some where in a legal state.
Oh ya. Lots of green plants have won!My opinion it's more about the photo and not the quality of the weed. Every pic I've ever posted was taken with a old android cell phone... Nothing fancy..Won 4 POTM...same phone...The secret is how much time are you willing to put into choosing a perfect pic...Example = Take 100 pics keep 1..That takes alot of time ...I usually get high as shit and start deleting pics once chilled out for the eve and the wife has some ridiculous crap on TV..It's easy to narrow down actually...Always them standout pics....just like standout phenosYou can shoot manually on most Samsung phones if you arent into just "point n shoot". You can adjust ISO/warmth/speed etc. I use my old Samsung cell phone for many of the pics I post on here because the camera and settings are better than with my new cell phone. For a good point and shoot camera with some manual options like the big $ cameras the Nikon CoolPix S6200 is a great camera for my Daughter. I think it was like $189 some years back and likely much cheaper now (even used) at the rate that cameras evolve. Lots of stuff can be done post shoot too in editing software programs -many of which are free. Lots of "tricks" to use when taking photos from any camera like layering etc.
lol took me ages to even get close . Keep chippin away brother . Sometimes in fact most times there’s several worthy winners and it seems a little unjust but hey , at least it’s put to the people unlike some forums I’ve viewed .I must be pretty close to the record number of entries without a win! 🤣🗽
I'm just pleased whenever someone slips me a vote. I had a bummer run last spring and was just really pleased with the Blue Guava grown this fall.I must be pretty close to the record number of entries without a win! 🤣🗽
