Come As You Are
I went with "Fire!" emoji, but kinda wanted to laugh, too, as a fellow glasses wearer! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
People used to ask me why I didn't leave them at home or someplace safe.
Most of the time, if stuff was gearing up, my gf would hold onto them.

Incidentally, I've only lost one pair to shenanigans. Hüsker Dü in Iowa City for the Zen Arcade release. My friends brother and his friend decided to grab my belt loops and launch me skyward.
Never saw the glasses again.

I can see about 5 inches in front of my face, after that it's all fuzz.

Reading this I can't help but ask if you ever got to see UC Berkeley.... Being a BSD nerd I have to know LOL
I've only been on campus twice, for football games both times.

When I lived in Walnut Creek, we would skip school and ride BART over and just hang out on Telegraph all day.
The first time I went there, there was a payphone ringing at Telegraph and Bancroft, across from the campus

I picked up the phone and this female voice says "when I see a n***er, I pull the trigger"
That led to a 45 minute conversation about a whole lot of shit. I'll never forget that day, it was full of strange.

No BSD but I did get to witness Tom Jennings implement FidoNet. Most of what I know, which isn't much, I picked up from being a fly on the wall at his place.(his bf was my friend Deke Nihilson, one of the founders of homocore)

I would love to see the campus at some point; I mean.... TCP/IP, BSD, Vi... I literally don't understand when someone who majors in Computer Science chooses MIT LOL. Like, who thought ITS was actually a good idea?? I used to have a DVD on the History of BSD, and I did have "a Quarter Century of Unix" which is a great book by the way.

Come As You Are
Honestly, I miss the early NorCal days. It was like living in a David Lynch movie. Somehow we would always end up in strange places around career weirdos.
Take for instance the night my buddy and I went to see the Pop-O-Pies at Berkeley Square.
While we're waiting for the show to start, this guy comes up and ask us if we're looking for bud. We get a twomp from him. Later, my buddy asks dude if he can get us some more.
We end up in Martinez at some biker compound. At midnight.

Dude says wait and he'll be back with the bud. My friend had given him $100, we were sure he was going to rip us off and what are we going to do but cry.

A half hour passes and the guy shows back up, big-ass kolas in a paper bag. Probably a half pound.

He's in the back seat rolling up a doob. A girl comes out and tells the guy we need to move our car.

We move the car and smoke the fatty, sit around for a minute talking about the show and who this guy knows.

Then he's all "okay, see ya, you guys are cool!" and splits.
We take off thinking we hit it big with some giant kolas.
The next day my buddy sees that the guy left the bag in the back seat.

We decide to keep it but I was like what if we see that guy at Berkeley Square again and he's mad about it.
We drove around Martinez for three hours trying to find the place we were at to no avail.
Took about three weeks to get through all that bud.
