Ashtray hack

I use glass bowls in my bong and have broken several by tapping them on an old glass ashtray to get he ash out,
I know there are various options for ash removal, and I should mention that I only smoke about 2/3 of the weed. (The last third has already been baked & lost its effects.

My solution — add a golf ball for tapping.

I use a wooden match (not the sulfur end) or the like. I used to break soo many damn bowls like this. Wood only now.

I've had the same problem. I have an acrylic ashtray from a head shop and it is solid enough to tap against but not harder than glass so no breakage.

It's cool how we've all found different ways to deal with the same problem.

I also just presume that after enough extreme heat cycles that any glass will become brittle, so after enough use I start expecting a bowl to crack.

Being a cheap old fart, I also found that I can pick up male x female adapters for $5 and they work great as bowls. The lip at the bottom holds a screen perfectly and the head of my B-0 and Thermal Twist slide right in the top. Been doing this for years. I have a little drawer full of these.

Stems are great for cleaning bowls and pipes. Especially the ones with the "magic angle".

Stems work great like dirtybanger stated. They also make ashtrays specifically for scraping the bowl piece..
