Heimi Cheeba RKS preservation

I got a couple packs of RKS direct from Heimi Cheeba @ ACC just before his tragic motorcycle accident and his death. (RIP James). I grew some out but all I got was females. After flowering those females I re-vegged 2 of them and clone 1.

I then grew out more of the RKS and got 2 fabulous males.

Doing seed preservation right now. I have 4 females, 2 males and 1 reversed female. Gonna make some regs and some fems.

Pics are of the first batch of females I got and of the new males I have.

I didn't get any sweetness. I got burnt rubber, cat litter box, garlic, earthy mushroom. All had a road kill profile, all slightly different. No skunk odor just roadkill odor. This line when it was presereved by Heime he did an open pollination with 7-9 males. It was also only called RoadKill to begin with... someone added the skunk part to the name later on. I don't consider it skunk spray smelling.
The terpene values were there for sure but not super loud. You can smell it but it's not overpowering.

Female reversal going well. I'm using STS. Sprayed total 5 times started 1 week before flowering. Pollen should start flowing in a week or two.

Kropdusters reproduction of heime cheebas road kill skunk, red selection. I planted 3, and chose one of two girls to flower at random. Veg held no surprises, aside from the vigor. I assumed these would have been fairly inbred by heime, and display inbreeding depression, but vigor wasn't noticably low. Stalks on the thin side, and would have benefited from some form of support, or more topping. This genotype had no issues branching out, and had strong forks.

76 days of short nights, fueled by living organic soil. She oozes thiols, pulling off her best impression of a skunk getting a perm. Not one ounce of sweet, fruit, bakery, citrus, fuel, floral, dairy, candy, or incense. No carcass either. It's 85% perm, 15% skunk. Fade started at 7 weeks, and fans turned gold and crispy, while the sugar leaves caught a blush of mauve. This one wasn't particularly colorful.

Incredibly wet trichomes that smear like oil when you touch them, it takes minutes of rubbing before it turns sticky. Medium to dense buds and a classic old school trim level.

Despite finishing the last two weeks at an rh between 65%-75%, I lost nothing to botrytis.i saw the spotty beginnings of calcium deficiency as fade started, whereas other plants didn't display this issue, despite having more biomass, so I assume she struggles with calcium uptake, or needs higher levels.

I pulled a sample at 9 weeks, and found it has elevated recreation levels, and a strong aroma profile.

She's been slowly drying and curing since harvest. Down to 59% and stable for a week.

I measure harvest by volume. She commanded a 15"x15" area, shared a 315w HID, and I gave her 11 weeks. She produced 1.5 quarts of quality, trimmed flower.

It presents itself like a proper Irish lass, chunky with gorgeous red hair framing a sparkling green.

In the jar, the nose is mostly lime and anise, but when breaking it up, it quickly changes to smelling like a perm, with scant notes of pissy tart mango. Oddly, if I open the jar, and have to leave the room, when I return, the smell is 110% skunk. I had some in a small jar I left in the hot garage, and that also took on a VERY skunky odor.

The smoke also has a captivating nostalgic aroma, especially when you didn't smoke. This is an easy smoke, and not terribly expansive, it goes down smooth, and leaves a slight green taste behind.



Medicinally, it leaves a very clear thought process, but highly disorientating, almost vertigo like at times. My thought train always stayed true, but visually tracking objects and swiveling my head felt odd.

Despite it's indica heritage, the flowers have a sativa like feel, where breaking it up, leaves it shredded instead of crumbled. Just like the old days, it performed better being broken up with scissors, than fingers or a grinder. The trichomes stay bonded to the flower, so you don't lose them on your rolling tray. During the cure, the trichomes went from oily to sticky. A pile of broken down bud will fuse itself together after five minutes.

I'm honestly shocked at how nice this turned out, as quite a few heritage strains can be quite leafy, and finish with loose flowers.


Poor planning lead to me putting her into flower without getting a clone. Initially I wasn't to bothered, but as flower progressed, I felt regret that I didn't have her backed up. Reveg is sometimes a gamble, and often strain specific, but I'm glad to report this one is revegging fine. I WILL be running this again.

Still pulling winners from kropdusters red selection of Heime Cheebas roadkill skunk. Right out of the gate in the second pack, I found this outlier.

Medium density, chunky buds with a bit of extra trim if you'd like things more photogenic, but the trim is worth leaving a bit shaggy. It's rare to see resin rails on a strain this old.

With a terp package that kicks like a mule, she comes with a nose of pine sol, Murphy's oil soap, and whiskey with lemon. An insane level of pine sol, and very lung expanding. I'd think something was sketchy if I hadn't grown it myself.

The terpene levels are high enough, that this pheno managed to soften the dark ancient resin in my grinder, and clean about ⅔ of it up. It quickly accumulates in bong water, turns orange, and becomes a powerful solvent, that cleans inaccessible areas that haven't been cleaned in years. Dumping the bong smells like I'm dumping mop water. Its unreal.

She came down a while ago, and the reveg is going amazingly fast. Can't wait to run this side by side with the other winning cut.
