Introducing Myself

Hey all,

Hope everyone is doing well!

Long time fan of canna - Xennial who discovered a love for it around ‘97, who recently started taking indoor growing seriously after I bought my first home last year. I am a big fan of the classic and heirloom strains.
I love to learn new things and am open to ideas on how to do better. Not into drama. Only peace and smoke from the Land of Enchantment.

Currently:
Green Crack (The Cali Connection)
Northern Lights #5 (Authentic Genetics)
Pre-98 Bubba Kush (labeled clone from local hydro store)
Strawberry Diesel (Alter Ego)

Before this, I’ve grown (or attempted to grow):
Aladdin’s Skunk (Khalifa)
“Cannalope Haze” (Alter Ego)
Colombian Gold - Pink Pistil (Alter Ego)
Laos Muang Sing (Khalifa)
Mexican Red Hair (Alter Ego)
Oreoz (clone from hydro store)
Pine Tar Kush (unverified source)
Purest Indica (Authentic Genetics)

Look forward to learning and growing with you all.

You make me miss NM. I like your mix of old school and new school grows. Any plans on the next strains
red or green? 🌶️🫑

Thanks! It’s been nice being back. Left for about a decade, not much has changed, other than being allowed to grow my own herb. Nice!

Not sure what’s on the agenda next.

Just started flower on p98 and Green Crack. Those two can fill up a 3x3 tent together quickly!

Have 2 different phenos of Strawberry Diesel that I’ll have a tough time selecting from.

One is later to mature and has the aroma of fresh sweet strawberries - from several feet away. My nose picks up nothing else. Just sweet berries, with a certain high note of sweetness that you’d expect from strawberries. Hard to describe.

The other pheno is not as strong of an aroma unless rubbed, but seems to be finishing faster. Has some fuel mixed in with the sweet berry, but there’s more complexity to it. Sometimes I’ll get a baked strawberry pie aroma, other times it is more like strawberry-scented wasp spray. She’s my funky pheno.

I’ll know more in the coming weeks, as they are on week 7 of flower now. Also threw down a few more strawberry diesel seeds to find a suitable male for these two.

After I do a line breeding on the strawberry diesels, my plans are pretty open.

What about you?

Welcome @Scorpikus !

Curious how that Mexican Red Hair turned out for you.

That was considered a premium procurement amongst my crowd back in the late 80's
Thank you!

I didn’t know what I had until after I had already chopped my girls down. Rookie mistake.
Was really interesting strain.
The aroma was best described as an iced tea with hints of wood and lemon?
Effects were great. Not strong. But, I’d smoke a bowl and want to paint my living room - and actually do it. Smoke another and clean the entire kitchen. Then go pull weeds in the yard. All while finding music to be even more enjoyable than usual. No real comedown either. Just wished the effects lasted longer, as do we all.

I did manage to make a few dozen seeds using one of the Mexican red hair females and purest Indica male. Have been wanting to pop some of those beans for a bit and see what I find.
I believe I saw packs of it (MRHS) recently at SoCal seed vault.

Green. But I also like red

not to be a Colorado homer, but I like pueblo Chiles over hatch.

and yes, I've had a few Blake's lottaburger Chile burgers. fantastic!
So, I lived in Colorado for a while. I couldn’t convert. I tried! The flavor profile wasn’t the same. But I sure loved living there and trying nonetheless.

Blake’s used to be amazing! I understand they sold the company to a new owner several years back and the quality has decreased significantly since. The foodies of the local subreddits have been full of hate for our local burger chain for quite some time.

well, damn, that used to be the first place i'd hit when exiting 25 into Las Vegas.

I liked stopping at one of the last KMarts before they all disappeared in Raton too. blue light special in aisle 5...
