THT's Random Trees 12/12 from Seed

What do you find is the advantage to revegging instead of taking cuts? Just wasting time and space on cuts you are going to scrap? Any tips for hunting in 1 gals or 0.5 gals? I have trouble getting dense buds out of the smaller pots and it makes it hard to evaluate.
Also Alot of times I don't even keep the bud from the small pot test grows..Most times it goes thru the trim bin. I surely don't need bud..Just better plants. The overall evaluation comes at a later time. But no reason to waste time on most plants in the first place is all I'm saying...With extra care you can get really nice plants in a quart of soil..Just feed more often. Solid and dense. Just a mini version of a big plant..Check out some Solo cup challenge grows. Can really get some yields if ya practice

Main reasons..No way I could back up clone every seed I pop.. Impossible.. Biggest reason...I mainly hunt first and foremost for Terps and structure..I can see everything I need to see on a small plant..If the plant is stable and meets my most important criteria it gets looked at further..No reason to grow junk all the way thru and there is a lot of junk..Always that standout pheno in every batch/pack..That's what I'm looking for and then I can spend time/money growing that plant to see if it's something I really want to keep..Have a grip of plants I've found this way that I haven't even grown out proper yet..But i at least know what I'm dealing with when that time comes
Also I forgot to add when I'm doing these small hunts..These beans are usually something tucked down in the collection that has a good chance to never be popped..Plus I chuck Alot. Way more beans then I'll ever use..I may pop 50 and by the time they are 4 inches tall already culled half..And another half before I flip.. If I have some nice packs or something I'm excited about I'll just run those normally..In the rare case I pop fems they get ran normally as well..Lots of super nice plants show from stuff ya probably would have overlooked to run something else..This is the biggest reason for micro plant hunts..It's just to the point I've seen so many plants I known exactly the type that sticks around and I enjoy growing..And really saves the headache of basic all around disappointment..Right now I have 6 Toledo Strip gals that are a F1 hybrid of course and they look like exact clones because I chose those 6 from a major seed pop and kept a matching male..F2s I'll do the same thing

I wanted to post a quick review of the various blueberry selections that we ran and share my thoughts and maybe a few pictures once I find them
Here's the list
00 Seeds Blueberry
Sagarmatha Double Bubbleberry
Sagarmatha Blueberry Bud
AKBB Vintage Blueberry
AKBB Knik Goosebay Blueberry x Super Skunk

00 Seeds: Blueberry - Surprisingly great structure and the most trich density of this batch. Smells are not in the berry family at all, instead I would place them in the glue/adhesive range instead. That said, one of the phenos exhibited a more controlled but branchy structure while the other was more like a large single cola with a lot of fox tailing. Smoke tests on this were unable to be performed due to the presence of an extreme amount of pollen and seeds however I'm very curious to see the offspring.

Sagarmatha: Double Bubbleberry - A real gem here. Structure, terps, trich density, flower/leaf ratio, this lady has it all really and was a standout in this exploration. The terps began as straight up skittles candy and eventually evolved to a much more robust and complex berry sweet fruit candy. Interesting purple coloration on the buds adds to her appeal. Again sadly, no smoke report for the same reason.

Sagarmatha: Blueberry Bud - Very similar in structure and looks to the double bubbleberry, lower trich density and a much closer nose to blueberry. More exploration is needed to give this strain a complete and fair review as the pack we received had a pretty poor germ rate likely due to the age of the seeds.

AKBB: Vintage Blueberry - This strain presented the most 'blueberry' terps and seems to be the most true to the old school genetics, very dense 'afhganistan landrace' looking buds, moderate trich coverage but sticks close to the buds, not much in the way of sugar leaf here. That said it was consistent and while its in cure now, early smoke report suggests a mild flavor of blueberry and a very heavy stone.

AKBB: Knik Goosebay Blueberry x Super Skunk - A real life giant. Some of the most massive buds I've even seen on a plant to date, but needing almost no support. Incredibly sturdy and hardy and forgiving. Terp coverage is somewhere between vintage and double bubbleberry, and smells are very 'blue' adjacent with some musty and floral tones.

I'll try to remember to upload some pics later.

peace!
