I just saved that LOL!
Being in Michigan you can hear gunshots all day and it almost doesn't matter where you are but few things make a northern butt pucker and think twice like a banjo and a half smiling threat hahahaha!
I checked the soaking seeds today before we left the house, and it was basically like yesterday:
GDP is still floating in the cup, as is Chem D, and the GMO still has two of the seeds on the bottom.
This is generally how I start my seeds; I get a cup, put some seeds in after I've made a note with the strain name listed on it, and put some bottled water in, and then every 24 hours or so, I empty the water out and refill it so it stays fresh (Last year I learned that leaving the water in for 3 days or so lead to fuzzy growth....LOL) so I generally keep it fresh and leave the seeds in the water, and once they sink to the bottom, they'll generally start to sprout a taproot and begin the journey.
Once the taproot has sprouted, they generally stay in the cup another day or two, maybe 3 depending on how much growth happens, and then the Root Riot moss blocks come out, and even though they have a little hole in them already, I don't use it; I tear it open like a chocolate cake so it's split across the top, and that way I can aim the taproot of the seed down into it, and then put that in the cup, and put some soil over the top. Then they get watered in, and the wait begins for signs of life.
Once signs of life happen, I may water again, but the main thing after that is getting the light on them. today we need to grab one of the timers from the back so that I don't have to deal with the light time in my head like last year.... LOL. Last year all the timers were in the back garage so whenever we woke up we turned the light on, and I'd make a mental note, and then just make sure they had between 13 and 14 hours of light each day before it was shut off.
I admit that isn't very "scientific" of me, but then again I barely trust a Chef who measures ingredients unless they're baking LOL.
I'd like to get more strains going today, just have to make some room for cups with water in them for seeds to soak in. Hawaiian Sunshine and others need to get going soon though because they take forever to get done (Guessing a LOT of Sativa in that.....Thing flowered for so long last year that even in a Greenhouse it was getting "freezer burnt"....). I'd like to have it ready a bit quicker this time around and I've only gotten 5 seeds off a POUND of it....I have come to understand some people snub "hermie seeds" but I've also not found a single person who knows any info about this strain outside of "hearing it was bred locally" and there's nothing on Google about it, though I expect it's Sunshine X Hawaiian of some sort, but not sure which one.... Sticky as shit and smells and tastes like floral fruit so everyone loves it LOL. So for now, those seeds I've collected from smoking buds are all I have.
