GM’s tent city

finishing up final touches on my basement tent city. Had some ups and downs this past year but I’m very grateful to be setting up this project for the winter.

I have some big ideas in mind. I’ll be documenting everything here. So let’s jump in.

the seed stock for this run was born of “uncle Fred”, a thing mint Girl Scout cookies pheno that was been kept in a tight circle. A couple years ago a single seed poped out of a plant. Turned out to be a boy when we grew it out and decided to throw that pollen at a few of my keeper girls.

1.Lemon snow cone

2. Blueberry bouquet ( river song x salmon river og) this is the best cut I’ve ever had, once in a generation strain if you ask me. Here’s the only picture I have it it outside.

3. Gorilla cookies

So that’s were we are today. Popped 10 of each on Tuesday 9/5/23. And have 100% germination on Saturday 9/9/23. Straight into promix. No gimics, tap water.

Second round of seeds is a special one for us. Dedicated to my wife’s father who passed a year ago on 9/7/22 “Swan” a true legend in the world of Cannibus. We waited a year and got these wet on 9/7/23.

Thanks to gage green group for this seed.

Hope to see some action today or Tommorow on these ones

Now a little peak at the tent city
IMG_5071.jpeg
Two 2x2 tents for fem production. ( we’ll see how that goes)
4x4 for open pollination
And 4x8 for pheno hunting.
Might put up another small one, we’ll see.

Alright that’s it’s for now. I have to finish water source. And a few touches for winter time environment controls. But other than that we are rocking.

And anyone here wants to grow any of my crosses I’d be happy to send out some tester seeds! Just shoot me a message!

Day 8 Promix and straight tap water at this point. Plan to transplant into my soilless peat mix 1 gallon pots until sexed. Last time I vegged some of these plants it was less than 4 weeks from pop to show males.
Anyone have any opinions if early to show boys is a good or bad thing when selecting males?

Awesome lookin grow! I like the "tent city"! I also really like the tribute run your doing. I'll be following along for sure. I am certainly no expert on breeding but in my experience, selecting a Male that shows sex quickly and starts dropping pollen quickly will have a better chance of having his genetics dominate the offspring. That's just what I was taught and am not sure if there's any science to back that up. I've generally selected males that flowered later than the rest but that can be trumped by a great stem rub. I usually get my plans sexed right after the pop up and separate the males at that point. It costs roughly $10-$15 per plant and I've had perfect results. Ofcourse this is not necessary, I just hate waiting and wasting soil on the ones I don't plan on keeping. Awesome lookin plants and good luck!!!

I always use the slowest showing males..The quick are always culled..I don't really have any science behind it..It's just how I learned following a old school grower chucker from RIU..but as finedakine said...That stem rub and structure plays the biggest role...Simply put i always kill the first to show male and go from there

I’ve thought about those tests but all my soil typically gets recycled so I just use old used soil for veggin. What a cool thing to have that option nowadays.

sweet. I think that will be my plan for now.
Let the early to show balls go and work off stem rub/ structure/ vigor. So easy to select females. Hard decisions coming

Really popping.

Starting to plan for flower. I think the best 12 females will go in this 4x8 with 10 gallon containers. Water only peat based mix. Top dress meals and beneficial microbes will be about all that is added. Bedsides the malted barley and compost that goes on their pre flip and after stretch as well.

I’ll clean up some of this giant fan leaves in day or two. But what a short compact set of plants. 4-5 nodes already and plants are only 4-6 inches tall. Lights on 50%.

And here’s my bb 15. I want to start spraying the silver spray to make some fems. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

My plan was to take clones first. Then start spraying on particular branch every other day for next few weeks. Should I flip to flower first? Or try to get male parts first? Stabbing in the dark here. lol first picture is the two clones in basment. And the last is just showing the frost at 3 weeks from flip in the greenhouse. She’s a frost monster. Haha. Have a great day all!! IMG_5204.jpeg IMG_5171.jpeg

I’ll try to get twice a week updates or so from now on. Only 240 out of 1000 plants left to chop at work. Snapped a picture of the frosty blueberry grown in light dep greenhouse. 8 weeks and they are getting the chop.

Also looks like the blueberry 15 Ive been trying to make fem seed with is starting to drop some nuts after two weeks of silver. Hope to get some pics of that soon.

Also anyone have easy tips for collecting pollen? I have a boy bluebeam that I want to open pollinate with bluebeam females and Swan. But the pollen is ozzing now and I’m not ready to flip the girls yet? I was gunna try to hang the boy in the tent it’s in now with parchment paper on the floor and hoping flowers and pollen will fall down, fold it up in paper , wait two weeks and open up in the tent. How’s that sounds y’all? And I do have my flower tent in VERY close proximity to the boy. And extra tips to keep pollen out of my flower tent?? Tent set up for open pollination. Will update with my rigged ventilation for keeping pollen flowing the right direction. Fingers crossed.

My blue beam boy is flowering in 2x2 with negative pressure right next door.

Also the blueberry that I have been spraying with CS just started throwing male parts for some fem seeds. That’s in the other 2x2, negative pressure. I had gave up on this one but was surprised to see the sacks growing out the flowers. Right in the 2 branches I sprayed and even surrounding branches that got over spray on them. I have two plants in there.

And wow. What vigor and explosive growth in the flower tent. Can’t believe these seeds got wet on September 1st. And now just 8 fill in the 4x8 almost to the max. Should be a fun downhill slide here on out for those girls.

Also, to any experienced breeders happen to read through I have a question.

I have 6 x “swan regular seed” from gage green group. Nycsd x grape stomper.

What’s the chances of getting all females, or what does it mean if they all are female? Basically I’m guessing that GGG is chucking hermie pollin, or just selling hermied girls seeds as true bred regulars? I’m pretty disappointed cause we we’re going to make f2s and now have no stud.

What y’all think. For $$$ a pack you’d think that it would be what they say it is?

May have oversprayed CS. Have more male parts than I thought I would on the fem project not sure the best way but my plan is to let the pollen open and that wait a few days and spray with water, then cut out any male parts to let the seeds finish and be uniform in developing fingers crossed IMG_5381.jpeg IMG_5381.jpeg IMG_5378.jpeg
